Reuse and recycle your old clothes by ripping them apart and putting them back together again in ways that are fun, functional, whimsical, or wacky. Bring your sewing machine, sewing supplies (and an extension cord if you have one), buttons, bows, ribbons, embroidery thread and any clothes you don't mind donating to be "re-threaded" and recycled into something fabulous. Join us, even if you can't sew. (There's always masking tape and fabric glue.) The group sew-a-thon well end with a fashion show at the end of the evening! For a memorable Earth Day weekend experience, head out for a paddle to Meares Island and discover the rainforest with a local guide and naturalist! Cost for this 4 hour trip (all equipment included) is $75/person, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Raincoast Education Society (there are 10 seats available – help us fill them all!). For all of our other trips that weekend we will be donating an additional 10% to the RES! No experience necessary. Please reserve in advance by calling 250 725-3232. Celebrate the wrap of a week of Random Acts of Art in Tofino and Ucluelet (RAATU) with this community fundraiser for the Pacific Rim Arts Society. It's a conglomeration of local performing talent --- multiple live bands and performers, fire spinners, live music, dance, raffles & auctions --- all “wrapped” up in one big fundraiser. All proceeds will support the 2009 Summer Music Festival!
